ANSWER: Brand new baseball and softball bats need to be broken in before they perform to their full potential. QUESTION: What age is the Hype Fire -10 USA right for, and what length should I buy?
ANSWER: The -10 fits most USA Baseball hitters from about 8 to 11. A 27 or 28 inch works for most 8 year olds, a 28 or 29 for most 9 year olds, and a 29 to 31 for 10 and 11 year olds depending on height and strength. When in doubt, go shorter. A bat the player can whip through the zone will produce harder contact than a longer bat they have to muscle. If your player is under 8 or on the small side, look at the Hype Fire -11 USA. If they are a strong 11 or 12 year old already driving the ball, the -8 Drop may be the better fit.
QUESTION: What is the difference between the Hype Fire -10 and the Hype Fire -11 USA?

The -11 is built for the youngest and lightest players in kid pitch who need every bit of bat speed they can get.
