The build is different from the two-piece Hype Fires the older kids swing, and that is on purpose. The JBB is a one-piece composite with a light swing weight, because a 6 or 7 year old facing a coach's arm needs two things above all: a bat they can get around on time, and a bat that gives them honest feedback when they make contact. One-piece construction delivers both! There is no connection joint to soften the feel, so the hitter feels the difference between a good swing and a great one, and the whole bat stays light enough that a kid can whip it through the zone without dragging the barrel. The Hype Fire -10 USSSA is a two-piece composite at 27 to 31 inches with Easton's ConneXion Max connection, Opti-Flex handle, and Flow+Tack grip, built for kid pitch travel ball hitters from about 8 to 12. When a player moves out of coach pitch and needs a 28 inch bat or longer, that's the signal to step up to the full-size Hype Fire -10.
QUESTION: Which leagues can my player use the Hype Fire JBB in?
ANSWER: The EJB7HYP10 carries the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp, so it is legal in USSSA-sanctioned coach pitch, machine pitch, and junior big barrel divisions, plus any league or tournament that follows the USSSA big barrel rule. It's not USA Baseball certified, which means it is not legal in Little League, Cal Ripken, PONY, or other leagues that require the USA stamp, and it is not a tee ball bat. If your player is in a USA-stamped rec league, the Hype Fire -11 USA is the bat you want instead. Always confirm your league's bat rules before buying!
