RARE FIND: here at Longball Bats, we take pride in having a huge selection of baseball and softball bats - including hard to find bats like this one! Sold out most everywhere else, this bat is still available here at LBB - while it lasts!

If the Rodeo collection was Combat's nod to cowboy culture, the Performance collection is its love letter to the racetrack, and the Racer is the one everybody wanted. Powder blue from knob to end cap, an orange racing stripe running down the barrel, a white number 3 roundel, and "Fueled by COMBAT OCTANE" printed right where the pitcher can read it. Hitters started calling it the Gulf Racer the day it dropped, and the nickname stuck. Combat built it as a limited edition, sold it with a two-per-customer limit, and watched it disappear. It's been sold out at the manufacturer ever since, which is why it lives in our Rare Finds section now: brand new, in the wrapper, and ready to ship from LongballBats.com while we've still got them!

The paint gets the attention, but the bat underneath is why people keep hunting for it. The Racer is a full Spec A1, the one-piece alloy that Combat calls the top of the BBCOR class and that a lot of high school hitters would agree with. SFX Barrel Technology is the engine: a set of manufacturing processes that give the Spec A1 a longer barrel and a bigger sweet spot than any other one-piece alloy, so you've got more usable barrel to work with and more forgiveness when you catch one off the end. It swings balanced, which keeps the bat quick through the zone without giving up barrel performance, and Combat tuned the stiffness so it hits with the direct feel of a one-piece and forgives like a two-piece when you get jammed. The Clinch Spec Grip is pre-loaded with extra tack and just the right amount of cushion, and the sound at contact is loud enough to make the other dugout look up. And because this colorway is blue and orange rather than the Rodeo's burnt orange, it's approved for NCAA and NJCAA play as well as NFHS, so a college hitter can swing it too.

Limited edition bats like this one are exactly why we built the Rare Finds section at LongballBats.com. We've been the Bat Performance Experts since 2016, our staff carries more than 100 years of combined baseball and softball experience, and we've put together one of the largest selections of sold-out, discontinued, and limited edition bats you'll find anywhere, including numbered Combat drops from all the collections that you can't get from Combat anymore. If you're hunting for a specific bat, start with Rare Finds, and if you don't see it, ask us. When you buy a Rare Find from us, you get a brand new bat with the manufacturer's warranty, our sizing advice, and same-day shipping on most orders placed before 1PM Eastern, instead of a gamble on a resale site.

QUESTION: Should I order this bat stock/untouched or Heat Rolled with Progressive Pressure?
ANSWER: If you order your new bat Heat Rolled with Progressive Pressure, it will be delivered to you completely and evenly broken in. This process adds 20-40ft of distance to your solid hits, increases consistency, improves durability and adds 2-3 business days of lead time to your order. If you plan to use the bat in an official game or event, please verify the legality of our process with your league or sanctioning body before use. We (LongballBats.com) do not encourage the use of a Heat Rolled bat in any game or event where it is against the rules. Click here for details about our process!

QUESTION: Should I order this bat with Free Shipping or Upgraded Shipping?
ANSWER: It just depends on how quickly you need it. This RARE FIND Bat is ready to ship and will generally ship same day if ordered before 1PM EST. Our free shipping method is just the cheapest method available to your address, which is usually a 2-6 day transit time but is NOT guaranteed. The upgrade options specify their transit times. UPS 2 Day Air and/or UPS Next Day Air are popular options for customers needing a bat quickly.

QUESTION: Why is this bat priced higher than retail?
ANSWER: Since limited edition and highly sought after bats are often are next to impossible to get, there are times that we're willing to pay higher than retail prices for them in the secondary market so that we're able to make them available to our customers. Many customers value performance and convenience over price, so our "RARE FIND" inventory is purchased with this in mind.

QUESTION: Is the Racer legal for college baseball?
ANSWER: Yes. The Racer is BBCOR .50 certified and approved for NFHS high school, NCAA, and NJCAA play. That's worth pointing out because not every Combat colorway is: the orange Rodeo "Greatest Show on Dirt" is high school only due to college bat color rules. The Racer's light blue and orange finish doesn't run into that problem, so a college hitter can put it in the bag with confidence. As always, double check with your league or conference before game day.

QUESTION: Why do people call it the Gulf Racer?
ANSWER: Because of the look. Combat's official name is simply the Performance "Racer," but the powder blue body, orange racing stripe, and white number roundel are a tribute to one of the most famous racecar liveries in motorsport history, and hitters immediately started calling it the Gulf Racer on forums, in dugouts, and on resale sites. If you see either name, it's the same bat, CBB6GLFB3. Whatever you call it, it's one of the best looking BBCOR bats Combat has ever made!

QUESTION: What sizes did the Racer come in, and which should I swing?
ANSWER: Combat released the Racer in 31, 32, 33, 33.5, and 34 inch lengths, all at a -3 drop. The 33.5 is unusual and worth noting for hitters who've always felt stuck between a 33 and a 34. Because the Spec A1 is balanced, most hitters can swing their normal BBCOR length without adjusting. A typical high school freshman or sophomore lands in a 31 or 32, an upperclassman in a 32 or 33, and bigger, stronger hitters in a 33.5 or 34. Since this is a Rare Find, availability by size changes as we sell through, so check the size selector and grab the one you need while it's here.
