Set the table like never before. That's DeMarini's pitch for the 2027 Future -11, and it tells you exactly who this bat was built for: the hitter at the top of the lineup whose job is hard, loud contact, over and over, until the pitcher's tired of it. The Future is DeMarini's newest premium fastpitch line, and the -11 is the drop built for bat speed and barrel control, with a balanced swing weight, a two-piece composite build, and a barrel design DeMarini says is unlike anything it has built before. Finished in a metallic blue and silver barrel with pink and white FUTURE lettering, wave graphics, and a purple grip, it looks like it came from a few years down the road. It plays that way, too!

The headline is the barrel. DeMarini's Future Dark Matter Composite Gapped Wall Barrel uses an inner and outer wall with an air gap between them, and on the Future that gap is the largest and longest DeMarini has ever built, running from the connection all the way to the end cap. A gapped wall barrel works like a trampoline: the outer wall flexes into the gap at contact and springs back, and a longer gap means more of the barrel does it. The result is a massive sweet spot, line drives off contact that would be lazy fly balls on a stiffer bat, and the kind of sound at contact that makes a dugout look up. Behind the barrel, the Damplify Direct Connection integrates a soft material into the joint that dampens handle vibration while keeping the bat responsive, so a jam shot in a cold March tournament doesn't sting. The D-Lite Composite Handle keeps weight out of the hands for a quicker swing, the Anomaly End Cap manages swing weight at the far end, and the Damplify Knob and handle taper clean up vibration and make the grip area comfortable through a full weekend. Designed and built in Hillsboro, Oregon, certified for USA Softball, USSSA, NSA, ISA, and WBSC play, and backed by DeMarini's one year warranty.

A premium fastpitch bat is a real investment, and the Future comes in three drops, which means the sizing conversation matters more than usual. That's what LongballBats.com is here for. QUESTION: Should I order this bat stock/untouched or Heat Rolled with Progressive Pressure?
ANSWER: If you order your new bat Heat Rolled with Progressive Pressure, it will be delivered to you completely and evenly broken in. This process adds 20-40ft of distance to your solid hits, increases consistency, improves durability and adds 2-3 business days of lead time to your order. If you plan to use the bat in an official game or event, please verify the legality of our process with your league or sanctioning body before use. We (LongballBats.com) do not encourage the use of a Heat Rolled bat in any game or event where it is against the rules. Click here for details about our process!

QUESTION: Should my player swing the Future -11, -10, or -9?
ANSWER: All three share the same gapped wall barrel, Damplify connection, and balanced swing weight, so the choice is about how much bat she can swing fast. The -11 drop is the bat speed drop, ideal for younger travel players, contact hitters, and anyone who gets her power from quickness rather than mass. The -10 drop is the middle ground most 12U through high school hitters land on. The -9 drop is for strong, experienced hitters who want more mass behind the ball. A quick cage test settles it: if she swings the heavier drop with the same bat speed and mechanics, go heavier. If her hands slow down, stay with the -11.

QUESTION: What is a gapped wall barrel, and is it the same as a double barrel?
ANSWER: Close cousins. A gapped wall barrel is built with an inner wall and an outer wall separated by an air gap, so the outer wall can flex into the gap at contact and spring back, which is where the trampoline effect and the loud sound come from. Double barrel designs from other brands work on a similar principle. What makes the Future different is the size of the gap: DeMarini says it's the largest and longest air gap it has ever built, extending from the connection to the end cap rather than sitting in one section of the barrel. That's why the sweet spot on the Future runs so far down the bat.

QUESTION: Which leagues is the Future -11 legal in?
ANSWER: The WBD2726010 is certified for USA Softball, USSSA, NSA, ISA, and WBSC play, which covers rec leagues, travel ball, and the major tournament organizations. It's a fastpitch bat only and is not approved for slowpitch. As always, confirm your league's approved bat list before game day. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to contact us!
