Every travel ball hitter hits a wall at 13U or 14U where the drop 10 they grew up with starts to feel like a wiffle bat and BBCOR is still a year away. The 2027 Louisville Slugger SUPRA TIGERSHARK -5 is built for that exact window! At 25, 26 and 27 ounces it carries real weight, only two ounces shy of the -3 the player will swing in high school, but it does so with a full 2-3/4 inch composite barrel and the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp, which means it hits harder than any BBCOR bat legally can. For an elite USSSA hitter who wants to get strong with a heavier stick now while still taking advantage of a hot barrel, there is no better bridge bat in the Louisville Slugger lineup. Here, it is offered in a limited edition Tigershark colorway with camo, shark teeth and tiger stripes!

The reason the SUPRA -5 works as a training tool and a game bat at the same time is the swing weight. Louisville Slugger kept it balanced instead of end loaded, so a 32/27 SUPRA feels far more manageable through the zone than most drop 5 competitors at the same listed weight. That balance comes from the XPND Performance End Cap, which trims mass from the tip of the barrel, and from the two-piece composite layout that puts the flex at the VCX3 connection rather than in the barrel walls. The result is a bat where a strong 14U hitter can keep the same swing path and timing he uses with a -8, but with noticeably more exit velocity because there is more mass in the collision. When that player steps up to BBCOR the following spring, the adjustment is two ounces and a stiffer barrel, not a completely new swing.

The SUPRA APX Composite Technology barrel is what made this platform the talk of USSSA baseball in 2026, and the drop 5 gets the full version of it. The composite is engineered to load on contact and spring back, which produces a hot, lively response with a loud crack that carries. The 2-3/4 inch profile stretches the sweet spot down the length of the barrel, so late swings and slightly off-center contact still produce hard line drives. The VCX3 Vibration Control Connection System shuts down sting on inside pitches while leaving enough feedback in the hands to tell a good swing from a bad one. A Pro Design Knob Taper flares gently into the knob for leverage and comfort at the bottom hand, and the premium LS Pro Comfort Grip provides tack and cushion without adding weight. Louisville Slugger backs the bat with a 1 year manufacturer warranty.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

QUESTION: Should I order this bat stock/untouched or Heat Rolled with Progressive Pressure?
ANSWER: Brand new baseball and softball bats need to be broken in before they perform to their full potential. Our ProMAX Heat Roll/Break-In Service adds 20-40ft of extra distance to your solid hits, improves the durability and longevity of the bat and increases the consistency of your results on solid hits, as well. If you plan to use the bat in an official game or event, please verify the legality of our process with your league or sanctioning body before use. We (LongballBats.com) do not encourage the use of a professionally broken in bat in any game or event where it is against the rules. Click here for details about our process and if you're in a hurry, opt for our "Front of Line" service!

QUESTION: Can my player use the SUPRA TIGERSHARK -5 in high school or in a BBCOR league?
ANSWER: No. The SUPRA TIGERSHARK -5 carries the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp only. High school (NFHS), college and most 14U and older leagues that follow BBCOR rules require the BBCOR .50 stamp and a -3 drop, and this bat has neither. Where the -5 shines is in USSSA sanctioned 13U and 14U travel ball, where a 1.15 BPF composite barrel is legal and will outperform any BBCOR bat. If your player needs a bat for both USSSA and high school in the same season, you will need two bats. If you like this colorway but need a BBCOR bat, check out the 2026 Louisville Slugger Select PWR Tigershark Hybrid BBCOR Baseball Bat, -3 Drop, WL2700201!

QUESTION: Is a drop 5 too heavy for a 13 year old?
ANSWER: It depends on the player, not the birthday. A drop 5 is the right call for a hitter who is already driving the ball with a -8 and is physically ready for more mass, typically a stronger 13U or 14U player who will be swinging BBCOR within a year. If your player is still building bat speed or is undersized for the age group, the SUPRA TIGERSHARK -8 is the better fit and will produce more consistent contact. A useful rule of thumb is that a player should be able to hold the bat out at arm's length for 30 to 45 seconds without the barrel drooping; if they can do that with a 31/26 or 32/27, they are ready for the -5.

QUESTION: What is the difference between the TIGERSHARK -5 and the standard 2027 SUPRA -5?
ANSWER: Just the paint. The TIGERSHARK is a limited edition colorway of the 2027 Supra USSSA -5 (WBL4253010). Both bats use the identical APX Composite barrel, VCX3 connection, XPND end cap, balanced swing weight and 2-3/4 inch profile, and both come in 30, 31 and 32 inch lengths at the same price. Performance is the same. The TIGERSHARK is the choice for a player who wants the camo and shark teeth look and a bat that will not be restocked once the limited run is gone.
