The drop 8 is where the SUPRA stops being a kid's bat and starts doing real damage! The 2027 Louisville Slugger SUPRA TIGERSHARK -8 takes the balanced two-piece composite platform that dominated USSSA travel ball last season and adds two ounces of mass at every length compared to the -10, which is exactly what a stronger 11U to 13U hitter needs once bat speed is no longer the limiting factor. More weight behind the barrel means more energy into the ball on square contact, and because Louisville Slugger kept the swing weight balanced rather than end loaded, that extra mass doesn't turn the bat into a log. Sizes run 29/21 through 32/24, and the 32 inch option is one most drop 10 bats never offer, which makes this the natural landing spot for taller players who still have another season or two before BBCOR.
The barrel is the SUPRA APX Composite Technology barrel, the same 2-3/4 inch profile found across the entire 2027 SUPRA USSSA line. APX is a stiffer, more resilient composite layup than what Slugger used on earlier Meta and Solo barrels, tuned to compress and rebound on contact so the ball comes off hot with a sharp crack that carries across the field. The wide profile stretches the sweet spot lengthwise, and the XPND Performance End Cap shaves weight from the tip so that hitting surface extends almost to the end of the barrel without pulling the balance point outward. For a -8 hitter who is starting to drive the ball to the gaps, that end-of-barrel forgiveness is the difference between a warning track fly ball and a double off the wall on a slightly late swing.
What sets the TIGERSHARK apart from the standard 2027 SUPRA -8 (WBL4252010) is the look, and the look is nasty in the best way. Jagged rows of shark teeth tear across a camo pattern on the barrel, high-contrast tiger stripes wrap the taper, and a riveted Louisville Slugger logo sits above the handle like a badge. Underneath, the VCX3 Vibration Control Connection System joins the composite barrel to the composite handle, killing the sting on jam shots while still letting you feel where you caught it. The Pro Design Knob Taper flares softly into the knob for better leverage and a more comfortable bottom hand, and the LS Pro Comfort Grip is tacky and padded without adding weight. This is a limited edition release, it is USSSA 1.15 BPF certified, and it ships with Louisville Slugger's 1 year manufacturer warranty.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
QUESTION: Should I order this bat stock/untouched or Heat Rolled with Progressive Pressure?
ANSWER: Brand new baseball and softball bats need to be broken in before they perform to their full potential. Our ProMAX Heat Roll/Break-In Service adds 20-40ft of extra distance to your solid hits, improves the durability and longevity of the bat and increases the consistency of your results on solid hits, as well. If you plan to use the bat in an official game or event, please verify the legality of our process with your league or sanctioning body before use. We (LongballBats.com) do not encourage the use of a professionally broken in bat in any game or event where it is against the rules. Click here for details about our process and if you're in a hurry, opt for our "Front of Line" service!
QUESTION: Should my player swing the SUPRA TIGERSHARK -8 or the -10?
ANSWER: Go by strength and swing speed, not age. If your player is already swinging a -10 with authority and the ball is jumping but not carrying, the -8 adds two ounces of mass at the same length and turns that bat speed into more exit velocity. If bat speed is still developing or the player is on the smaller side for their age group, stay with the -10 so the swing stays quick and the barrel stays on plane. A good test is to have the player take 15 to 20 hard swings with the heavier bat; if the last swing looks as fast as the first, they are ready for the -8.
QUESTION: Is the 2027 SUPRA TIGERSHARK -8 legal for USSSA play?
ANSWER: Yes. It carries the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp, which makes it approved for USSSA sanctioned travel baseball leagues and tournaments. Keep in mind that some USSSA age divisions restrict the maximum drop a player can use, so confirm with your tournament director that a -8 is allowed in your division. This bat is not USA Baseball or BBCOR certified and cannot be used in leagues that require either of those stamps.
QUESTION: Is the TIGERSHARK any different from the regular 2027 SUPRA -8?
ANSWER: Only on the outside. The TIGERSHARK is a limited edition colorway of the 2027 Supra USSSA -8. It uses the same APX Composite barrel, the same VCX3 connection, the same XPND end cap, the same balanced swing weight, and it is offered in the same four sizes at the same price as the standard model (WBL4252010). Performance is identical, so the choice comes down to whether you want the shark teeth or the tricolor fade, and whether you want a bat that will be hard to find once the limited run sells through.
