TL;DR The 2026 COMBAT Coastal Jason Kendrick XR1 is a one-piece SSUSA senior bat with a 13.25" triple-barrel composite barrel and a 0.5 oz end load. Sizes: 34" in 26, 27 and 28 oz. Approved for SSUSA and ISA, not USSSA or USA. Add our ProMAX Heat Roll for maximum performance.

The 2026 COMBAT Coastal Jason Kendrick XR1 gives senior power hitters a lot of bat to work with! It has a one-piece frame, a 13.25-inch composite barrel that’s 2-1/4 inches across, and a half-ounce end load that keeps real weight moving through the zone. COMBAT dressed this one for the beach. The Coastal finish is sky blue with pink and sand striping, a tan COMBAT badge on the taper and a royal blue grip, so it looks more like a vintage surfboard than a softball bat. It sits next to the Cookie Jar Crumb Reaper in COMBAT’s 2026 Kendrick lineup and follows the 2025 Country Club and Midnight Rodeo models. It also shares its Coastal theme with the Coastal Bradley Jones CR-1 USSSA bat.

The barrel uses COMBAT’s Spec XR1 triple-barrel composite construction, the same tech COMBAT lists on its other Kendrick XR1 senior bats. The bat is one continuous piece from knob to end cap, so the swing feels clean and connected, and COMBAT lists the handle as mid flex. The 0.5 oz end load is the other half of the story. On a barrel this long, that extra mass out front puts more momentum behind contact, which is exactly what strong senior hitters are after. COMBAT finishes it with its ultra-tacky Clinch Spec Grip. The Coastal Kendrick is certified for Senior Softball USA (SSUSA) play, and Combat also lists it for ISA. It is not approved for USSSA or USA Softball (ASA) adult slowpitch, so leave it home for your weeknight league unless senior bats are allowed there. It comes in 34 inches at 26, 27 and 28 ounces. Like most senior slowpitch bats, it doesn’t carry a manufacturer warranty.

QUESTION: Should I order this bat stock/untouched or Heat Rolled with Progressive Pressure?
ANSWER: If you order your new bat Heat Rolled with Progressive Pressure, it will be delivered to you completely and evenly broken in. This process adds 20-40ft of distance to your solid hits, improves consistency, increases durability and adds 2-3 business days of lead time to your order. If you plan to use the bat in an official game or event, please verify the legality of our process with your league or sanctioning body before use. We (LongballBats.com) do not encourage the use of a Heat Rolled bat in any game or event where it is against the rules. Click here for details about our process!

QUESTION: How is the Coastal Kendrick different from the Crumb Reaper and the other Jason Kendrick XR1 bats?
ANSWER: Mostly in the paint. COMBAT gives the Coastal and the Cookie Jar Crumb Reaper the same build: one-piece XR1, 13.25-inch barrel at 2-1/4 inches, half-ounce end load, mid flex handle and 26 to 28 oz weights. The Crumb Reaper is the black Cookie Jar design, and the Coastal is the sky blue and pink one. In 2025, the Country Club used that same 13.25-inch loaded layout. The Midnight Rodeo went with a 12.75-inch barrel for hitters who want a little less length out front.

QUESTION: What’s the difference between the Coastal Kendrick XR1 and the Coastal Bradley Jones CR-1?
ANSWER: They share the Coastal theme, but they’re built for different rulebooks. The Kendrick is a one-piece XR1 with an SSUSA senior stamp and a 13.25-inch barrel, offered at 26 to 28 oz. The Bradley Jones is a two-piece CR-1 certified for USSSA, ISA and NSA, with a 12-inch barrel and weights from 25 to 28 oz. Both have a half-ounce end load, triple-barrel composite construction and the Clinch Spec Grip. So the stamp your league requires makes the call for you. If your league or tournament requires SSUSA, it’s the Kendrick. If you play USSSA, it’s the Bradley Jones.

QUESTION: What does triple-barrel composite construction mean?
ANSWER: Triple-barrel is COMBAT’s name for a composite barrel built as layered walls instead of one single shell. COMBAT keeps the exact layup to itself. The idea behind a multi-wall barrel is a lively, consistent response across the hitting surface, and that matters more on a 13.25-inch barrel than on a short one. You’ll also find triple-barrel construction in COMBAT’s CR-1 slowpitch bats. On the XR1 it’s paired with a one-piece frame, so you get that response with a solid, connected feel. QUESTION: What is the Clinch Spec Grip, and can I put a different grip on this bat?
ANSWER: Clinch Spec is COMBAT’s own ultra-tacky grip, and it comes installed on the bat. Plenty of hitters leave it alone. If you want a thicker or thinner feel, you can swap in a standard aftermarket bat grip. Grip thickness changes how the handle fills your hands. A heavier wrap also adds a little weight near the knob, which can take a hair off how end-heavy the bat feels. Most senior leagues only require a proper safety grip, but check your rulebook before trying anything unusual.
