TL;DR Two-piece composite -10, Mizuno's flagship fastpitch bat, perfect for 12U through college hitters who want a soft, smooth feel with big barrel response. Paired Barrel Detonator COR, Black Onyx Carbon, balanced swing. 30-34 in. USA, USSSA, NSA, ISA, WBSC approved. Add our ProMAX Heat Roll for maximum performance.

The CRBN1 is the Mizuno for hitters who want to feel everything. The CRBN PRO is the Mizuno for hitters who want to feel the good swings and forget about the bad ones! It’s the flagship of Mizuno’s fastpitch lineup, a two-piece all-carbon bat built around Mizuno’s Detonator COR construction, and the 2027 CRBN PRO -10 is the drop that fits the widest range of players: 12U travel hitters moving into their first premium bat, high school hitters who want a balanced swing with a big barrel, and college players who like a composite that stays comfortable through a doubleheader. It wears the Black-Pink Tetra colorway, a dark barrel with pink and orange graphics, a matching gradient grip, and purple accents, the blacked-out sibling of the CRBN1’s white version. Mizuno’s best fastpitch bat, in the drop most hitters should start with.

What makes a CRBN PRO feel the way it does is the pairing of a Black Onyx Carbon barrel with a Black Onyx Carbon handle through Mizuno’s two-piece Detonator COR construction. The barrel runs Mizuno’s Paired Barrel Detonator COR technology, a double-wall design engineered to maximize energy transfer at contact and produce the deep, booming sound that CRBN hitters recognize from across the field, while keeping the swing weight low so the barrel stays quick through the zone. The two-piece build does what a one-piece can’t: it isolates the vibration from an off-center hit at the connection instead of sending it into the hands, which is why the PRO feels so smooth on a jam shot. Mizuno’s patented Dual Frequency Dampener in the connection uses two different materials to reduce vibration without adding flex, so the hitter gets the comfort of a two-piece with the responsiveness of a stiffer bat. Black Onyx Carbon in both pieces keeps the bat durable through a full season, Cylinder Seaming keeps the barrel consistent around its full circumference, and a Speed-Helix Grip finishes the handle. Balanced swing weight, full 2-1/4 inch barrel, approved for USA Softball, USSSA, NSA, ISA, and WBSC play, and backed by Mizuno’s one year warranty.

A flagship fastpitch bat is a real investment, and the CRBN PRO comes in three drops, so it’s worth a conversation before you buy. That’s what LongballBats.com is here for. We’ve been the Bat Performance Experts since 2016, our staff offers players, parents and coaches more than 100 years of combined baseball and softball experience, and we carry the full Mizuno CRBN lineup, so we can tell you honestly whether the two-piece PRO or the one-piece CRBN1 fits your player’s swing (and whether she belongs in the -10 or should look at the -11 drop or -9 drop.) Tell us her age, size, current bat, and what kind of hitter she is, and we’ll get her into the right Mizuno the first time. Right bat, right drop, right length!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

QUESTION: Should I order this bat stock/untouched or Heat Rolled with Progressive Pressure?
ANSWER: If you order your new bat Heat Rolled with Progressive Pressure, it will be delivered to you completely and evenly broken in. This process adds 20-40ft of distance to your solid hits, increases consistency, improves durability and adds 2-3 business days of lead time to your order. If you plan to use the bat in an official game or event, please verify the legality of our process with your league or sanctioning body before use. We (LongballBats.com) do not encourage the use of a Heat Rolled bat in any game or event where it is against the rules. Click here for details about our process!

QUESTION: What’s the difference between the CRBN PRO and the CRBN1?
ANSWER: The CRBN PRO is a two-piece bat and the CRBN1 is a one-piece, and that changes everything about how they feel. The PRO joins a carbon barrel to a carbon handle through Mizuno’s Detonator COR construction and Dual Frequency Dampener, so vibration from a mishit gets absorbed at the connection and the bat feels smooth in the hands on every swing. The CRBN1 is a single piece of composite with Mizuno’s AntiShock taper doing the vibration work, so it feels stiffer and more direct, with more feedback at contact. Both share Black Onyx Carbon and the full set of fastpitch approvals, and both come in -9, -10, and -11. Hitters who want the softest, most forgiving feel pick the PRO. Hitters who want a quick, connected one-piece pick the CRBN1. We carry both!

QUESTION: What is Paired Barrel Detonator COR?
ANSWER: It’s Mizuno’s double-wall barrel design for the CRBN PRO. Rather than a single composite wall, the barrel is built as a pair of walls that work together at contact, which does two things. First, it lets Mizuno tune the barrel for maximum energy transfer into the ball, with a sweet spot that stays responsive across more of the hitting surface. Second, it produces the deep, booming impact sound that CRBN PRO hitters love. Mizuno also uses the paired construction to keep the barrel’s swing weight low, which is why a bat with this much barrel still feels quick and balanced through the zone.

QUESTION: Should my player swing the CRBN PRO -10, the -11, or the -9?
ANSWER: All three share the same two-piece construction, so the choice is about weight. At the same length, the -11 drop is the lightest and the -9 drop is an ounce heavier than the -10. The -10 is the right starting point for most 12U through high school hitters who already swing a -10 comfortably and want a premium two-piece feel. The -11 suits a younger or lighter hitter who needs a quicker swing, and the -9 suits a stronger, more experienced hitter who can carry extra weight without losing timing. A good test: if she can repeat her swing with the heavier drop through a full practice, not just a few hard cuts, she’s ready for it. If her timing goes late, stay lighter.
