The Slick v2 is a two-piece composite, and the two halves are built for different jobs. The 12 inch barrel is compact by slowpitch standards, and that is a feature, not a limit. QUESTION: What is the difference between the Slick v1 and the Slick v2?
ANSWER: The core build is the same: 12 inch barrel, half ounce end load, X-Core 2 technology, two-piece composite, ASA/USA certification, and a one year warranty. The v2 adds two things. First, the weight range grows from 24, 25, and 26 ounces to a full 24 through 28, so heavier hitters who were shut out of the original Slick now have a 27 and a 28 to choose from. Second, the v2 carries Anarchy's 250 Handle. It also gets a new graphic design, so if you loved how the original hit but wanted a different look or a heavier weight, the v2 is your bat.
QUESTION: Is the Slick v2 legal in USSSA play?
ANSWER: No. The ASPSLKG26A carries the ASA/USA certification only, which makes it legal in USA Softball leagues and any league that follows the USA bat standard. It is not certified for USSSA, and it is not a senior bat. Anarchy builds a separate Slick for USSSA play with its ACX-7 technology and a USSSA stamp, so if you play USSSA, that is the model you want. If you play both USA and USSSA, you will need a bat with each stamp or a dual stamped bat, and we can help you sort that out.
QUESTION: Which weight should I swing in the Slick v2?
ANSWER: A half ounce end load is a moderate load, so the Slick v2 doesn't swing dramatically heavier than its listed weight the way a full ounce end load does. That means most hitters can choose the weight they normally swing. If you are a contact or gap hitter who values bat speed, the 24, 25, or 26 will feel right at home. If you are a power hitter who has been swinging 27 or 28 ounce bats and wanted a Slick, the v2 finally gives you those options. When you're between two weights, go with the lighter one. A 12 inch barrel is built for whip, and a weight you can accelerate will always outhit one you have to push.
