QUESTION: What's the difference between the Slick v2 Hybrid and the regular Slick USSSA?
ANSWER: Both are USSSA bats with a 12 inch barrel and a half ounce end load, and both carry a one year warranty. The regular Slick USSSA is a full two-piece composite built on Anarchy's ACX-7 technology, with a composite handle and a weight range from 24 to 28 ounces. The Slick v2 Hybrid uses Anarchy's KCM-6X barrel with a stiff alloy handle and runs from 25 to 28 ounces. In the hands, the composite Slick feels softer and more forgiving on mishits, while the Hybrid feels stiffer, more direct, and gives clearer feedback on contact. If you want comfort, get the composite. If you want to feel every ball, get the Hybrid.
QUESTION: Why would I want an alloy handle on a slowpitch bat?
ANSWER: Because stiffness at the handle means less energy lost between your hands and the ball. A composite handle bends slightly at contact, which soaks up vibration but also soaks up some of the power you generated. An alloy handle bends less, so more of your swing goes into the softball, and the crisp feedback helps you dial in your barrel control faster. Alloy handles are also durable and consistent from swing to swing. QUESTION: Is the Slick v2 Hybrid legal in USA/ASA play?
ANSWER: No. The ASPSLA26U carries the USSSA certification only, which makes it legal in USSSA-sanctioned slowpitch leagues and tournaments and in any league that follows the USSSA bat rule. It is not certified for USA Softball, and it is not a senior bat. If you play USA ball, Anarchy makes a separate Slick v2 for USA/ASA with its X-Core 2 technology and a USA stamp.
