TL;DR BoombahPure's Vanguard: a one-piece composite SSUSA senior bat with a 12.5 in SX27 barrel, an end load and a semi-stiff handle. Built for senior power hitters. Black with gold battle art. No warranty. 25-27 oz. Add our ProMAX Heat Roll for maximum performance.

The Vanguard is BoombahPure’s power play for senior hitters! The 2026 BoombahPure Vanguard, model M7A0-6220, is a one-piece composite senior slowpitch bat with a 12.5 inch SX27 composite barrel, an end loaded swing weight, and a semi-stiff handle. It’s built for experienced senior hitters who want as much force behind the ball as they can get, while keeping a solid, connected feel. Boombah gave it a look to match. The black barrel is covered in antique gold battle art, with armored warriors, a crested helmet, and banners on the march. VANGUARD stands tall in gold lettering framed by laurel wreaths, and a black grip finishes it off. If you’d rather have more control than an end load gives you, the BoombahPure Boombah Sr. uses the same 12.5 inch one-piece platform with Boombah’s Mid Load.

Every piece of this bat is aimed at power. The end loaded swing weight adds mass toward the end of the barrel, so you build more momentum through the zone and drive more force into the ball at contact. Boombah pairs it with SX27 composite barrel technology, designed for a softer feel and a lively, explosive response. The 12.5 inch barrel gives you a concentrated sweet spot with a little more room than a 12. Then there’s the handle. The semi-stiff handle lets a moderate amount of flex into the swing while keeping a firm, connected feel through contact, which makes it a little more forgiving than a fully stiff handle. Boombah also built in its thin handle and low-profile knob, wrapped in a ThinTack grip it says is 30% thinner than its previous stock grip. The result is a slimmer, more natural feel in your hands. The one-piece frame keeps energy transfer direct. The Vanguard is built for SSUSA senior play and is not approved for USSSA or USA Softball (ASA) adult play. It comes in the standard 34 inch length at 25, 26, and 27 ounces, and like every BoombahPure senior bat, it’s sold without a manufacturer’s warranty.

End loaded senior bats reward strong swings, so it’s worth matching the load to your bat speed before you buy. LongballBats.com has been the Bat Performance Experts since 2016. Our friendly team offers slowpitch players more than 100 years of combined baseball and softball experience, and we’ve actually handled tens of thousands of bats. We know how an end loaded one-piece feels next to a mid load or balanced senior bat. Along with the BoombahPure Boombah Sr., we carry Anarchy’s Bloodline and Team Omen one-piece senior bats, so you can compare loads and handle feel side by side. When a popular senior bat sells out, it sometimes turns up in our Rare Finds section. Not sure if this is the perfect bat for you? Call or email us with your current bat and a little about your swing, and we’ll help you decide whether the Vanguard belongs in your bag.

QUESTION: Should I order this bat stock/untouched or Heat Rolled with Progressive Pressure?
ANSWER: If you order your new bat Heat Rolled with Progressive Pressure, it will be delivered to you completely and evenly broken in. This process adds 20-40ft of distance to your solid hits, increases consistency, improves durability and adds 2-3 business days of lead time to your order. If you plan to use the bat in an official game or event, please verify the legality of our process with your league or sanctioning body before use. We (LongballBats.com) do not encourage the use of a Heat Rolled bat in any game or event where it is against the rules. Click here for details about our process!

QUESTION: Should I get the Vanguard or the Boombah Sr.?
ANSWER: They share a lot. Both are one-piece BoombahPure senior bats with a 12.5 inch SX27 barrel, Boombah’s thin handle, low-profile knob, and ThinTack grip, and both come in 25, 26, and 27 ounces. The difference is how they swing. The Vanguard is end loaded, with extra mass toward the end of the barrel for more momentum and force at contact, and Boombah lists it with a semi-stiff handle. The Boombah Sr. uses Boombah’s Mid Load, which sits between balanced and end loaded for more control and quicker adjustments. If you have the bat speed and want maximum push behind the ball, go with the Vanguard. If you value control, or you’re coming from a balanced bat, start with the Boombah Sr.

QUESTION: What does a semi-stiff handle mean?
ANSWER: It’s Boombah’s middle ground between a flexible handle and a fully stiff one. A fully stiff handle barely bends, so nearly all of your energy goes into the barrel, but mishits come back hard. A flexible handle adds whip but can feel less connected. The Vanguard’s semi-stiff handle lets a moderate amount of flex into the swing while keeping a solid feel at contact. On an end loaded one-piece, that bit of give can make the bat feel smoother through the zone without losing the direct feel power hitters want. Confused? Call us; we'd love to walk you through it!

QUESTION: Who is the Vanguard built for?
ANSWER: Experienced senior hitters with good bat speed who want to get the most out of their power. An end load asks a little more of your swing than a balanced or mid load bat, so it suits players who are already on time and want more force behind the ball. The 12.5 inch barrel rewards hitters who square the ball up consistently, and the one-piece build gives clear, direct feedback. If you’ve been swinging a balanced or mid load bat comfortably and want more carry, the Vanguard is a natural step up. If you’re fighting to stay on time, a lighter-swinging bat like the Boombah Sr. will probably serve you better.

QUESTION: Which weight should I get in the Vanguard?
ANSWER: Start lighter than you think. Because the Vanguard is end loaded, it swings heavier than its listed weight, so most hitters do best about an ounce under what they’d use in a balanced bat. If you swing a 27 ounce balanced bat now, the 26 Vanguard will likely feel closer to home. If you already use an end loaded senior bat comfortably, you can stay at your usual weight. The 25 is a smart pick if you’re moving up to an end load for the first time. Bat speed matters more than bat weight, so when in doubt, go lighter.
