TL;DR The only balanced bat in Suncoast's Ruckus Resurgence series: two-piece, 12 in barrel, Stick and Spin tacky barrel, OPTI-DURA carbon, Max Speed Handle. Dual stamped USA and USSSA plus NSA and ISA. For bat-speed hitters. 25-28 oz. Add our ProMAX Heat Roll for maximum performance.

Three of the four Ruckus Resurgence bats carry extra weight in the end of the barrel; this is the one that doesn’t! The Suncoast Ruckus Resurgence 12 inch Balanced, model SRRUB12, is the quickest-swinging bat in the series, a two-piece composite with a compact 12 inch barrel and its weight spread evenly from knob to end cap, built for the hitter who gets distance from bat speed and barrel control rather than from mass. Like every bat in the Resurgence line, it’s approved for USA Softball, USSSA, NSA, and ISA, so one bat covers your USA rec league and your USSSA tournament without a swap. The Resurgence also brings the Ruckus name back with a USA Softball stamp the earlier Ruckus Max 2 Balanced never carried, which makes this the first balanced Ruckus you can legally swing in both worlds! It wears a bright blue finish with an orange collar and the Resurgence name set over a tribal barrel graphic, the most colorful bat in the series and the easiest to spot in a rack.

Balanced doesn’t mean light, it means the listed weight is where you expect it to be. A 27 ounce Ruckus Resurgence Balanced swings like a 27, with no half ounce or full ounce of added end weight pulling the barrel head through the zone, so the bat gets to the ball faster and stays easier to adjust mid-swing. That’s the whole argument for it: more barrel speed and more control at contact, which is what a gap hitter or a line-drive hitter actually needs. Suncoast’s Max Speed Handle makes the most of that with a smaller handle diameter that lets the barrel whip through the zone without giving up control, and the two-piece connection keeps a mishit from stinging. The barrel is OPTI-DURA Performance Composite, an aerospace-grade carbon fiber laid up through Suncoast’s proprietary process for performance and durability hit after hit, shaped with UFC Barrel Technology for a consistent response across a full season. Stick and Spin Barrel Technology finishes it with a tackified surface that grips the ball a fraction longer on a cut swing, spinning it faster for a higher trajectory and more carry, which pairs nicely with a balanced bat because a hitter who can place the barrel precisely gets the most out of a surface that rewards clean contact. Approved for USA Softball, USSSA (1.20 BPF), NSA, and ISA. Available in 34 inch lengths at 25, 26, 27, and 28 ounces, backed by Suncoast’s one year warranty from date of purchase.

Picking the balanced bat is the smart move more often than the end-loaded one, and most hitters still need a nudge to make it, because a bat with a load in the end feels like the power bat in the store. That’s where LongballBats.com earns your business! We’ve been the Bat Performance Experts since 2016, our staff offers slowpitch players more than 100 years of combined baseball and softball experience in every recommendation, and we’ve gotten our hands on tens of thousands of bats, so we know what a balanced two-piece feels like after a season, not just in the wrapper. We carry the full Suncoast slowpitch lineup, including all four Ruckus Resurgence models, and we’ll tell you straight whether this Balanced 12, the half ounce Ruckus Resurgence 12 inch End Load, the 13 inch End Load, or the full ounce Super-Load is the right one for your swing, and which weight to put in your bag. Call or email us with the leagues you play in and the bat you swing now, and we’ll take it from there.

QUESTION: Should I order this bat stock/untouched or Heat Rolled with Progressive Pressure?
ANSWER: If you order your new bat Heat Rolled with Progressive Pressure, it will be delivered to you completely and evenly broken in. This process adds 20-40ft of distance to your solid hits, increases consistency, improves durability and adds 2-3 business days of lead time to your order. If you plan to use the bat in an official game or event, please verify the legality of our process with your league or sanctioning body before use. We (LongballBats.com) do not encourage the use of a Heat Rolled bat in any game or event where it is against the rules. Click here for details about our process!

QUESTION: Should I get the Balanced or the End Load version of the Ruckus Resurgence 12?
ANSWER: Pick based on how you generate power, not on how strong you are. The Balanced SRRUB12 and the Ruckus Resurgence 12 inch End Load share the same 12 inch barrel, the same OPTI-DURA composite, UFC Barrel Technology, Stick and Spin surface, Max Speed Handle, and the same four stamps. The only difference is a half ounce of Power Load end weight on the SRRUE12, which makes it swing heavier than its listed weight and adds momentum at contact. If you’re a gap hitter, a line-drive hitter, a hitter who likes to go to all fields, or anyone whose power comes from bat speed, the Balanced is the better bat and you’ll square up more balls with it. If you already drive the ball consistently and want more carry on the ones you catch flush, the End Load earns its half ounce. When in doubt, go balanced. A faster, more controlled swing beats extra mass for most slowpitch hitters, and you can always step up to the End Load later.

QUESTION: What changed from the Ruckus Max 2 12 inch Balanced to the Ruckus Resurgence Balanced?
ANSWER: The biggest change is on the taper, not inside the barrel. The 2024 Ruckus Max 2 12 inch Balanced (SR12MUSB2) was stamped for USSSA, NSA, and ISA only, so it stayed home on USA Softball nights. The Ruckus Resurgence Balanced adds the USA Softball stamp, which makes it a true dual-stamp bat and a far more useful one for anyone who plays in more than one league. Suncoast also brings its UFC Barrel Technology to the Resurgence barrel alongside the OPTI-DURA composite, Stick and Spin surface, and Max Speed Handle that defined the Max 2. The weight range tightens up too: the Max 2 Balanced ran 25 through 28 ounces plus a 30, while the Resurgence Balanced is offered in 25, 26, 27, and 28. If you loved your Max 2 and only play USSSA, you’re getting the same balanced feel with Suncoast’s newest barrel. If you’ve ever needed a second bat for a USA league, this is the one that replaces both.

QUESTION: What is the Max Speed Handle, and does a thinner handle change the feel?
ANSWER: The Max Speed Handle is Suncoast’s smaller-diameter handle, and on a balanced bat it’s doing real work. A thinner handle lets the barrel whip through the zone a little faster for the same effort, which is exactly what a balanced bat is built around, and it also sharpens your feel for where the barrel is during the swing. Most hitters notice it as a quicker, more connected swing rather than as a thin grip. If you’re coming from a larger handle or you like a lot of grip in your hands, you can always add a thicker wrap over the stock grip, but be aware that adds a little weight to the handle end and shifts the balance toward your hands even more. Our advice is to swing it stock for a few sessions first! Hitters who choose a balanced bat usually end up liking the handle for the same reason they liked the balance.

QUESTION: Is the Ruckus Resurgence 12 Balanced legal in NSA, ISA, and senior softball?
ANSWER: NSA and ISA, yes. The SRRUB12 carries the NSA and ISA stamps along with USA Softball and USSSA, so it’s good for the vast majority of adult slowpitch leagues and tournaments in the country. Senior softball is the exception. The Ruckus Resurgence is not stamped for SSUSA play, and senior leagues that follow the SSUSA approved list won’t allow it, no matter how balanced it swings. If you play senior ball, Suncoast’s Melee line is built and stamped for exactly that, and we carry it. As with any bat, check your league’s approved bat list before game day, since associations update them, and give us a call if you’re not sure which stamp your league follows. Sorting out stamps is a big part of what we do!
